Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has decided to undergo surgery on his long-standing shoulder issue, ruling him out for the next few months. The decision came in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s early exit from the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, giving the English midfielder the window to address the problem ahead of the new campaign.

The 22-year-old, who has been a vital part of Los Blancos’ midfield, will now miss the start of the 2025/26 season. His recovery is expected to take around 3 to 4 months, meaning he could return sometime around October or November if everything goes as planned.

Newly appointed Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso will now have to look at alternative options within the squad to fill the void left by Bellingham. With a packed fixture list awaiting the Spanish giants, the likes of Arda Güler, Federico Valverde, or even Brahim Díaz could be in line for a more prominent role.
