Jordan Henderson has decided to leave Ajax this summer transfer window as he is not opting to extend his contract with the club and started searching for a new side as a free agent. Henderson had a decent season with Ajax and now will be looking to grab a good opportunity in the market.
Jordan Henderson has decided to part ways with Ajax this summer, choosing not to extend his contract with the Dutch club. The former Liverpool captain, who joined Ajax in January 2024, will now explore new opportunities as a free agent.
Henderson had a decent spell with the Eredivisie side, bringing experience and leadership to the squad during the second half of the 2023-24 season. Despite joining midway through the campaign, he made a positive impact in midfield and helped stabilize the team during a challenging period.
Now 34, the England international is looking for a fresh challenge as he enters the final phase of his career. Henderson is expected to attract interest from clubs in Europe and potentially from Major League Soccer or the Saudi Pro League, where he briefly played for Al-Ettifaq before joining Ajax.
