Sigachi Industries Ltd. on Friday, July 4, issued an update regarding the tragic fire accident at its Pashamylaram facility in Telangana. The company expressed gratitude to the Telangana State Government, emergency services, and employees who helped manage the situation following the mishap earlier this week.

According to the latest statement, 39 employees were confirmed deceased, revising the earlier reported figure of 40. Of the 33 team members injured in the incident, 12 have been discharged from hospitals, with each receiving an interim relief of ₹1 lakh. The company reiterated its commitment to providing full medical and rehabilitation support to the injured and continued logistical and emotional support to the families of the victims.

Sigachi Industries clarified that the cause of the accident is still under investigation, led by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana. Preliminary findings are expected within seven days. In its statement, the company reiterated its earlier position that the accident was not caused by a reactor explosion, though it refrained from speculating further ahead of the official findings.

Company representatives remain present at the hospitals to assist affected families and employees around the clock.
