In a moving display of solidarity and respect, fans from Everton and Manchester United—two of Liverpool’s fiercest rivals—joined Reds supporters in paying tribute to Diogo Jota outside Anfield.

The area opposite Liverpool’s iconic Hillsborough memorial has been transformed into a powerful memorial site. Liverpool FC staff placed black plastic buckets on the grass for fans to leave floral tributes, while supporters have draped the area with replica kits, scarves, and heartfelt messages.

Among the sea of red, a Manchester United scarf stood out. Handwritten on it were the words “RIP Diogo, YNWA”—a touching nod to Liverpool’s famous anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone. An Everton replica shirt bore a similar message, symbolising how football rivalries pale in comparison to human loss.

This unified gesture from rival fan bases is a rare but powerful reminder of the deeper sense of community that transcends club colours. At a time of immense sadness, supporters from across the football world are standing together to honour Jota’s memory and support his family, teammates, and fans.

As tributes continue to pour in, Anfield has become a place not only of mourning but of unity—where even age-old rivalries are set aside in respect for a beloved footballer gone too soon.
