Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has set a new benchmark by commissioning 752 MW of solar projects in Q1 FY26, more than doubling its achievement from the same quarter last year. This marks a 112% increase from the 354 MW commissioned in Q1 FY25 — the company’s highest-ever quarterly addition in the renewable energy segment.
With this addition, TPREL’s total utility-scale operational capacity now stands at 5.6 GW, comprising 4.6 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind power. For the full fiscal year FY26, TPREL plans to commission an additional 1.7 GW of utility-owned capacity and 1 GW of third-party projects, aiming to reach a total operational capacity of 7.3 GW by the end of the year.
The company credited its robust execution model, advanced engineering practices, and strong vendor partnerships for the seamless delivery of projects even under challenging conditions.
“These milestones underline our commitment to supporting India’s clean energy and sustainability goals while optimizing project costs and maintaining operational excellence,” the company said in its statement.
Tata Power’s renewable portfolio continues to play a strategic role in India’s transition to clean energy and strengthening energy security.
