Chelsea have announced the list of players who are left out of Chelsea’s squad for the upcoming Club World Cup 2025. The new competition brings a lot of energy to the teams and Chelsea after winning Europa Conference League is also been named in one of the groups.
Chelsea’s 28-man squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the USA was officially revealed on June 11, 2025. Following their UEFA Conference League triumph, the Blues are set to compete in Group D—alongside LA FC (Mexico), Flamengo (Brazil), and ES Tunis (Tunisia).
However, the announcement was met with controversy as eight notable players were left out:
João Félix
Djordje Petrovic
Axel Disasi
Raheem Sterling
Ben Chilwell
Kendry Paez
Renato Veiga
Wesley Fofana (excluded due to hamstring injury)
For many of those left out, especially Félix, Sterling, Petrovic, Disasi, and Chilwell, this exclusion appears to be more than a tournament decision; it’s a clear signal of summer exits being planned. Moreso, Chelsea’s focus is shifting toward youth, rejuvenation, and financial pragmatism as they look to reshape the squad after a mixed season.
