Manchester United have reportedly opened negotiations with Brentford for the signing of winger Bryan Mbeumo, according to top-tier sources including Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic. The Red Devils are believed to have submitted an initial offer worth £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons, but Brentford are holding out for a fee closer to £65–70 million.
Despite the gap in valuation, talks are said to be ongoing between the two clubs. United are confident that a deal can be struck as Mbeumo himself is reportedly keen on the move to Old Trafford, having rejected offers from three other Premier League clubs.
The Cameroonian international enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign with Brentford, showcasing his pace, creativity, and eye for goal, qualities that United have lacked in wide areas. With uncertainty surrounding the futures of Antony and Jadon Sancho, Mbeumo could be the perfect addition to inject urgency and directness into United’s attacking play.
