Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s prominent automotive manufacturers, reported total auto sales of 84,110 vehicles for May 2025, reflecting a 17% growth compared to the same period last year. This figure includes both domestic sales and exports.
In the Utility Vehicles category, Mahindra recorded domestic sales of 52,431 units in May 2025, marking a 21% increase from May 2024. Including exports, total Utility Vehicle sales reached 54,819 units for the month. Year-to-date figures for Utility Vehicles show a 24% growth, with 104,761 units sold compared to 84,226 units during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
In the Commercial Vehicles segment, Mahindra’s domestic sales for May 2025 stood at 21,392 units. The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category under 2 tons experienced a decline of 18%, with 2,580 units sold compared to 3,156 in May 2024. LCVs between 2 to 3.5 tons saw an increase of 14%, totaling 17,718 units. LCVs above 3.5 tons, including Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MHCV), recorded a modest 1% growth with 1,094 units sold. The 3-Wheelers segment, which includes electric variants, posted sales of 6,635 units, an 11% rise over the previous year.
Export performance showed significant improvement. Mahindra exported 3,652 vehicles in May 2025, representing a 37% year-on-year increase. Year-to-date export numbers reached 7,033 units, up 55% from 4,528 in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
