Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the nation at 8 PM tonight, Monday, May 12. The address comes in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive military operation targeting cross-border terror infrastructure.

While the official agenda of the Prime Minister’s speech has not been disclosed, it is widely expected to focus on the India-Pakistan ceasefire understanding, the success of India’s coordinated defence response, and the country’s overall national security strategy.

This will be Modi’s first public address since India conducted precision airstrikes on over nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following a wave of drone and missile attacks under Pakistan’s Operation Bunyanun Marsoos.

Earlier today, top officials from the Army, Navy, and Air Force held a tri-services briefing at 2:30 PM, where DG Air Operations Air Marshal AK Bharti praised the performance of indigenous air defence systems like Akash SAM and India’s counter-drone capabilities.

Additionally, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both India and Pakistan were scheduled to speak via hotline at 12:00 PM, but the conversation was postponed to the evening, as confirmed by sources.

More clarity on India’s future course and regional peace strategy is expected from the Prime Minister’s 8 PM address.
