In a fresh escalation along the Line of Control, two Pakistani drones were shot down by Indian Army Air Defence Units in the Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, according to Defence sources. The incident occurred amid an ongoing exchange of artillery fire between Indian and Pakistani forces in the region.

Simultaneously, Pakistan has intensified shelling in civilian areas of Uri and Kupwara, prompting a strong retaliatory response from the Indian Army. The use of drones and artillery comes in the wake of mounting cross-border tensions after India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor earlier this week.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defence had confirmed that Pakistan-origin drones and missiles targeted Indian military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. The threats were swiftly neutralised using India’s kinetic and non-kinetic defence systems, including air defence weapons and electronic countermeasures. Fortunately, no casualties or material damage were reported in those attacks.

“India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people,” the Ministry of Defence said in an official statement.

The situation along the LoC remains tense, with continued vigilance and preparedness from Indian defence forces as Pakistan escalates both aerial and ground attacks.
