Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially confirmed he will leave Liverpool Football Club at the end of the current season, marking the end of an iconic two-decade journey with the Merseyside club. His next destination is reportedly set—Spanish giants Real Madrid.
According to trusted football insider Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have completed all formalities and are preparing the final documentation to sign the England international. Alexander-Arnold has been on Madrid’s radar for months and is said to have been a top priority for the club since March 2024.
In an emotional statement released via a video message, Alexander-Arnold said, “After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life.”
He went on to reflect on his time at the club, expressing immense gratitude to Liverpool’s fans, staff, and his teammates. “This club has been my whole life – my whole world – for 20 years. From the Academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever.”
He added that his decision was driven by a desire to take on a new challenge and step outside of his comfort zone.
The departure marks a significant shift for both Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold, who has been an integral part of the club’s recent successes. The defender’s move to Madrid is expected to be formally announced once the season concludes.
