Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, has issued a strong statement after a video featuring their one-and-a-half-year-old son, Angad, went viral following the IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, April 27.

After Bumrah’s splendid spell of 4-0-22-4 that helped MI register a crucial victory, Sanjana and Angad were seen exiting the stadium, and the video was widely circulated online, initially shared by popular photojournalist Viral Bhayani.

However, the attention soon spiraled into uncomfortable territory as social media users began passing unsolicited remarks about the child. In response, Sanjana Ganesan took to Instagram to address the issue directly.

“Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment,” Sanjana wrote, emphasizing that both she and Bumrah have made a conscious choice to keep Angad away from social media due to its toxic nature. She stated that they were at the stadium solely to support Jasprit and not to seek any public attention for their child.

Calling out the insensitive comments made by some users, Sanjana said, “Throwing around words like trauma and depression in reference to a baby says so much about who we’re becoming as a community and it’s honestly really sad.”

She further urged people to refrain from making baseless judgments about their son based on a few seconds of footage and requested respect for their family’s privacy.

“A little honesty and a little kindness goes a long way in today’s world,” she concluded.

The incident highlights the increasing challenges public figures face in shielding their children from the harsh glare of the Internet and serves as a reminder to uphold sensitivity while commenting online.
