Mumbai Indians spinner Karn Sharma walked off the field after injuring his finger during the early overs of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings in the 33rd match of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium.
The incident occurred in the third over when Abhishek Sharma attempted a big shot off Deepak Chahar and mistimed it towards mid-wicket. Karn Sharma made a sharp stop on the half-volley but appeared to hurt his finger while doing so. After receiving brief medical attention, he was seen walking off the field in discomfort.
Karn’s injury could be a setback for Mumbai Indians, given his recent impact with the ball in the middle overs this season. MI, who opted to bowl first, are yet to announce an update on his condition.
At the end of 3 overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad were 22/0 with Abhishek Sharma (14)* and Travis Head (5)* at the crease.
More updates to follow based on his recovery and MI’s official statement.
