Infosys has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Houston-based MRE Consulting, a technology and business consulting firm specializing in energy and commodity trading and risk management (E/CTRM). The deal, valued at up to $36 million in cash (excluding incentives and bonuses), marks Infosys’ latest strategic investment in expanding its capabilities in the energy, utilities, and resources sectors.

Infosys Nova Holdings LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary, will acquire 100% partnership interest in MRE Consulting Limited and will also incorporate Infosys Energy Consulting Services LLC in the U.S. The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 FY26, subject to customary closing conditions.

MRE Consulting brings over 200 professionals with deep industry experience in E/CTRM ecosystems, having delivered scalable frameworks across commodity trading, vendor selection, solution design, and implementation. The acquisition is set to enhance Infosys’ ability to deliver domain-specific digital transformation to clients in the energy space.

Ashiss Kumar Dash, EVP & Global Head, Infosys, emphasized that the demand for digital transformation in energy and commodity trading is growing, and the acquisition strengthens Infosys’ leadership in navigating complex transitions toward sustainable energy. MRE’s founders also echoed excitement over the partnership, stating it will help scale expertise and bring differentiated value to clients.
