PSG survived the storm at Villa as they were close to losing this one with Unai Emery’s men showing some amazing determination to make a comeback in this leg. Now PSG are in the semifinals of the competition.
Aston Villa produced a spirited performance to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday night. However, the win wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit from the first leg, as PSG held on to secure their place in the semi-finals on aggregate.
Unai Emery’s men came out all guns blazing at Villa Park, showcasing incredible determination and fighting spirit. Spurred on by a roaring home crowd, Villa pushed PSG to the limit and came agonizingly close to pulling off a stunning comeback.
Goals from Villa threatened to turn the tie on its head, but PSG—who had done the hard work in the first leg—managed to survive the storm. Despite the setback, Kylian Mbappe and company are through to the last four, keeping their European dream alive.
