A worrying moment struck Delhi Capitals during their IPL 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians when two fielders, Ashutosh and Mukesh Kumar, collided while attempting a catch in the 19th over of the first innings.
The incident occurred when Tilak Varma sliced a slower delivery from Mohit Sharma towards short third man. Both Ashutosh and Mukesh charged in to complete the catch but ended up crashing into each other, missing the catch opportunity and conceding three runs.
The physio rushed in immediately to attend to the duo. Although both players initially appeared conscious and responsive, they were taken off the field for further medical assessment. Delhi Capitals were forced to make immediate fielding adjustments with both players temporarily out of action.
At that point, Mumbai Indians were 184/4 in 18.2 overs, with Tilak Varma leading the charge with 57 off 30 balls and Naman Dhir contributing 20 off 11.
