After witnessing a net decline in headcount for two consecutive quarters, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reversed the trend in the fourth quarter of FY25. The company added 625 employees sequentially, taking its total headcount to 607,979 as of March 31, 2025 — a 0.1% increase from 607,354 reported at the end of Q3FY25.

This comes after a steady fall from 612,724 in Q2FY25, indicating a cautious yet stabilizing hiring approach amid evolving business conditions. The marginal uptick in headcount suggests early signs of revival in demand and deal ramp-ups, particularly as TCS looks to FY26 with a strong order book and steady operating margins.

TCS reported a total headcount of 607,979 employees globally, with women making up 35.2% of the workforce and representation from 152 nationalities, reflecting the company’s diversity and global reach.

Despite the challenging macroeconomic environment, attrition in IT services remained under control at 13.3% over the past twelve months — a significant achievement compared to industry standards.

The workforce numbers and learning hours showcase TCS’ ongoing investment in employee development, while the strong patent portfolio reinforces its innovation-first approach.
