Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar took charge post the strategic timeout, hammering 20 runs in the 14th over bowled by Mitchell Santner to push Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 143/2 at the end of 14 overs against Mumbai Indians in Match 20 of IPL 2025.

Santner’s final over of the spell was taken apart with two sixes, a four, and a flurry of singles and doubles. Rajat Patidar began the assault with a massive six over long-on on the first ball (13.1), followed by another maximum over long-off on the final ball (13.6). In between, Kohli played a stunning straight four down the ground on 13.3 and added three more runs through aggressive running.

The 14-run over from Santner saw his figures swell to 4 overs for 40 runs at an economy of 10. Kohli moved to 67 off 41 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Patidar reached 32 off 19 balls, striking at 168.42.

The partnership between the two now stands at 48 off 30 balls, with RCB firmly in control heading into the final six overs. Mumbai’s hopes of a slowdown post-timeout were dashed, as RCB opted to throw caution to the wind in perfect execution of their mid-innings acceleration.
