In a high-stakes IPL 2025 encounter, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya came out on top in the battle of captains as he dismissed his opposite number, Rishabh Pant, in a crucial moment for MI. Bowling a clever slower ball in the 11th over, Pandya induced a leading edge off Pant, who tried to work it to the leg side.

The moment, however, belonged equally to substitute fielder Corbin Bosch. Sprinting in from mid-off, Bosch put in a brilliant one-handed diving effort to complete a sensational catch and send Pant back for just 2 off 6 deliveries. The dismissal marked Pandya’s second wicket and further derailed LSG’s innings after the fall of Mitchell Marsh earlier.

Pant’s recent form in IPL 2025 hasn’t been promising either, with scores of 0(6), 15(15), 2(5), and now 2(6) in the season so far. With LSG in a tricky position, Pandya’s breakthrough has given MI a strong upper hand as the match moves into the middle overs.

At the end of 13 overs, Lucknow Super Giants are 123/3, with Aiden Markram anchoring the innings on 39 (26)* and Ayush Badoni batting on *6 (9)**. The top scorer so far has been Mitchell Marsh, who blasted 60 off 31 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes, before falling to Vignesh Puthur.

Nicholas Pooran contributed a quickfire 12 off 6 but was dismissed by Hardik Pandya, who now has figures of 2-0-12-2, leading MI’s bowling effort from the front. Vignesh Puthur has also impressed, taking 1 for 22 in his 3 overs.

MI will now look to tighten the screws in the death overs and restrict LSG to a manageable total.
