Federal Bank has announced the launch of Fed StarBiz, a business credit card linked to Overdraft (OD) and Cash Credit (CC) accounts, aimed at meeting the specific needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Developed in partnership with NPCI and Visa, Fed StarBiz is Federal Bank’s first commercial credit card offering, with both RuPay and Visa variants available.

The Fed StarBiz card links directly to a customer’s OD/CC account, offering transaction limits up to ₹3 lakh per day or the available OD/CC limit, whichever is lower. All card usage reflects in the primary account, simplifying reconciliation and financial management. It includes enhanced security features such as tokenization and encryption and is accepted widely across the country.

Shalini Warrier, Executive Director at Federal Bank, highlighted that the card was developed to support SME customers with financial flexibility and control. Both Rajeeth Pillai of NPCI and Rishi Chhabra of Visa praised the collaboration, citing secure and scalable digital payment solutions for businesses across India.

This marks the first step in Federal Bank’s broader strategy to expand into business and commercial payments, with more specialized offerings expected through 2025.
