Sterlite Technologies has successfully completed the demerger of its Global Services Business. The services division will now operate under STL Networks with the brand name “Invenia,” marking a strategic move to create two highly specialized entities poised for accelerated growth.
The demerged entity, STL Networks, has played a vital role in India’s digital infrastructure development, deploying over 1.35 lakh km of optical fiber across 23 states. With expertise in large-scale IT infrastructure, the company has established itself as a key player in India and the UK. The separation allows STL and STL Networks to focus independently on their core competencies, enhancing agility and growth potential.
For STL, this move strengthens its position as a leader in Optical Networking, Optical Connectivity, Data Centers, and Enterprise solutions. With 10+ global manufacturing plants and customers across 100+ countries, STL continues to push the boundaries of digital infrastructure innovation with cutting-edge products like Optical Fiber, Fiber Cable, and Optical Connectivity solutions.
STL Networks, on the other hand, will leverage its expertise in large-scale deployments to expand its presence in the global digital infrastructure space. The company will focus on serving enterprises, telecom providers, cloud service providers, governments, and defense sectors. Notably, the recently awarded INR ~2600 Cr Bharatnet project in Jammu and Kashmir will be part of STL Networks, further cementing its role in critical connectivity solutions.
This strategic demerger enhances operational efficiency, improves profitability, and offers a compelling investment opportunity. Both STL and STL Networks will operate with dedicated leadership teams, with Rahul Puri heading STL’s Optical Networking Business and Pankaj Malik leading STL Networks. As a result, investors and stakeholders can expect stronger, more focused businesses driving the future of digital connectivity and infrastructure development.
