The Billboard Women in Music 2025 event celebrated the achievements of women in the music industry, recognizing their influence and contributions across various genres and roles. Hosted by Laverne Cox, the ceremony honored multiple artists, with Doechii receiving the prestigious Woman of the Year award.

Billboard introduced the Woman of the Year title in 2007 to acknowledge female artists who have made remarkable strides in the music business and continue to inspire future generations. This year’s honoree, Doechii, joins a distinguished list of past recipients, including Taylor Swift, Cardi B, and Karol G.

The event also recognized several other prominent figures. South Korean group aespa was awarded Group of the Year, while Ángela Aguilar received the Breakthrough Award. Italian DJ ANNA was named Billboard Italy Woman of the Year, and Charlotte Cardin was honored as Billboard Canada Woman of the Year.

Music legend Erykah Badu was presented with the Icon Award, while rapper GloRilla secured the Powerhouse Award. Rising talent Gracie Abrams received the Songwriter of the Year title, and BLACKPINK’s JENNIE was recognized with the Global Force Award. Other honorees included Megan Moroney, Meghan Trainor, Muni Long, and Tyla, with Tina Knowles receiving the Mother of the Year award.

Since its inception, the Billboard Women in Music initiative has expanded, including Latin Women in Music and regional awards in international markets. The 2025 ceremony further highlighted the diverse impact of women in the industry, reinforcing their growing influence across global music landscapes.
