Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) on Tuesday, March 26, announced that its Committee of Directors for Bonds has approved the General Information Document (GID) for issuing debentures during the financial year 2025–26.

As per the regulatory filing under SEBI LODR Regulations, the approved GID will enable the issuance of debt securities or bonds in one or more tranches or issuances, through private placement. The move is part of the company’s broader funding strategy for the upcoming fiscal year.

The committee meeting, held earlier today, began at 11:25 a.m. and concluded at 11:45 a.m. Further details regarding the quantum, structure, and timing of the bond issuances are expected to be disclosed as and when finalized.

Power Grid is one of India’s largest state-owned electric utilities and regularly raises capital through bonds to support its infrastructure expansion and transmission projects.
