Shares of Wipro Limited surged 2% after the company announced a strategic partnership with Nvidia to introduce sovereign AI services aimed at enhancing public sector efficiency and enterprise operations worldwide. The collaboration will focus on deploying AI-driven solutions through Wipro’s WeGA Studio and Nvidia AI Enterprise software, catering to key sectors such as banking, healthcare, education, and emergency services.
As part of this initiative, Wipro will develop customized large language models (LLMs) tailored for regional languages, starting with Thai and later expanding to Indian and South Asian languages. The AI solutions are designed with a privacy-first approach, ensuring compliance with data security and regulatory requirements. By leveraging Nvidia’s NeMo microservices, the AI infrastructure will be scalable, facilitating high-performance training and deployment of AI models.
Nagendra Bandaru, President & Managing Partner at Wipro Technology Services, emphasized the importance of ethical and transparent AI development, stating that this collaboration will enable governments to implement AI solutions that prioritize data sovereignty and national security. Meanwhile, John Fanelli, Vice President at Nvidia, highlighted that AI-powered agents could transform public sector operations by improving accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness.
This strategic move strengthens Wipro’s presence in the AI-driven digital transformation space while positioning the company as a key player in enabling AI adoption for governments and enterprises globally.
