During the mega auctions Punjab Kings made headlines when they purchased Shreyas Iyer for a hefty amount of 26.75 CR. With this Shreyas became the second most expensive player to be bought in IPL history, the most expensive being Rishabh Pant who was sold to LSG.
PBKS will play their first match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 25 March. With big names in the squad Punjab Kings will look to make the most of this opportunity.

Indian fast-bowler Arshdeep Singh who played a key role in India’s T20I World Cup win will be assisted by Protean pacer Marco Jansen and Afghani fast-bowler Azmatullah Omarzai.
Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh’s role in the middle order will be a significant factor in the team’s performance as the season progresses.
