Mumbai Indians are the current Champions of the IPL. They are also the most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League with four titles to their name. The points table might not suggest so yet, however MI have played so fantastic cricket in the tournament so far and are still certainly one of the teams to beat this season.

Kieron Pollard continued his rhythm and form from the CPL 2020 by scoring a quickfire half-century in just 20 balls against RCB in the previous game. Ishan Kishan marked his best score in the IPL 2020 so far, scoring 99 runs before getting out on the second last ball of the match as the bat unfortunately slipped in his hands. All this effort was in vain as Mumbai eventually lost in the super over to King Kohli’s men.
Mumbai Indians are a very experienced and balanced team having maintained a similar lineup and core for the last 3 seasons, and so they shall not be easily affected by the loss. MI have been renowned for late comebacks in the tournament and even though captain Rohit Sharma will be hoping for his side to not leave it late this time around, there is no reason for him to panic just yet with a couple of losses.
Nathan Coulter-Nile has missed the tournament so far due to injury and even though it is unclear if he is fully fit, it might be very possible that he comes into the team for James Pattinson. James Pattinson is a fellow teammate of Coulter-Nile with the Australian national side and has done decently so far into the 3 matches. It is imperative for Mumbai that the likes of Rohit Sharma and Trent Boult continue their form throughout the season. Young spinner Rahul Chahar has also been impressive so far. Mumbai will be hoping that big players such as Hardik Pandya, Quinton De Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah all come to the party soon enough as they are yet to fire up the stage this season.
