Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed South African bowling all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for Lizaad Williams, who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a knee injury. Williams, who was bought by MI for ₹75 lakh in the auction, missed the SA20 earlier this year with the same injury and has not recovered in time for the tournament.

Corbin Bosch’s T20 Experience

Bosch, who went unsold in the IPL mega auction, now joins a familiar setup after playing for MI Cape Town in the SA20 2025 season, where he impressed with 11 wickets in eight matches, including a standout 4 for 19 against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

The all-rounder was also picked in the PSL 2025 Draft by Peshawar Zalmi, with the tournament set to run from April 11 to May 18, overlapping with IPL 2025 (March 22 to May 25).

Previous IPL Stint

This will not be Bosch’s first IPL experience. He was earlier part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) as a net bowler before being signed as a replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile, though he is yet to make his IPL debut.

International Career

At the international level, Bosch made his Test debut in December 2024 against Pakistan in Centurion, just days after his ODI debut against the same opposition in Johannesburg. He was also called up to South Africa’s Champions Trophy squad as a replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje.

With Mumbai Indians set to kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on March 23 against Chennai Super Kings, Bosch’s all-round ability will be a valuable addition to the five-time champions’ squad
