Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have announced Wiaan Mulder as the replacement for Brydon Carse, who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a toe injury sustained during England’s Champions Trophy campaign.

Carse, who was picked by SRH for INR 1 crore, aggravated a long-standing left toe issue during the white-ball series in India. Although he featured in England’s opening match against Australia, where he conceded 69 runs in seven overs, his condition worsened, forcing him to withdraw from the tournament.

His replacement, Wiaan Mulder, had a strong showing in the Champions Trophy for South Africa, picking up six wickets in three matches. Despite going unsold at the IPL auction with a base price of INR 75 lakh, he now gets his maiden IPL opportunity with last season’s runners-up SRH.

SRH will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign with a home match against Rajasthan Royals on March 23.
