Uno Minda Limited, a leading global Tier-1 supplier of automotive systems and solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), has announced a significant leadership transition alongside the expansion of its research and development (R&D) capabilities into the Czech Republic.

Leadership Transition

Uno Minda has confirmed the superannuation of Mr. Rajeev Gandotra, CEO of the Lighting and Acoustics Domain (LAS)-2, marking the end of his distinguished 31-year career with the company. The company has expressed its sincere appreciation for Mr. Gandotra’s invaluable contributions over the years and extended best wishes for his retirement.

As part of the leadership restructuring, Mr. Vivek Jindal, who previously served as CEO of LAS-1 and is currently a Whole-time Director, has been appointed as the CEO of the consolidated Lighting and Alternate Fuel Systems (LAS) Domain. The restructuring of LAS-1 and LAS-2 into a single, integrated domain is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, streamlining decision-making, and increasing the company’s focus on sustainable mobility solutions.

Expansion of R&D Capabilities

Further strengthening its position as a technological leader in automotive innovation, Uno Minda has announced the establishment of a new R&D and engineering center in the Czech Republic. This advanced facility will focus on the development of next-generation lighting technologies to cater to the evolving demands of the global automotive industry.

Founded in 1958, Uno Minda is a global leader in automotive manufacturing, providing over 25 categories of components and systems for vehicles across all segments, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and two- and three-wheelers. The company caters to both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric/hybrid vehicle markets.

The Group operates 74 manufacturing facilities across India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Germany, Spain, and Mexico, along with 37 R&D and Engineering Centers located in India, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Spain.
