Adani Wilmar Limited has received overwhelming approval from its shareholders for the proposed change in its company name to AWL Agri Business Limited. The decision was confirmed through a postal ballot, with approximately 99.99% of the total votes cast in favor of the resolution.
According to the company’s exchange filing, the voting process was conducted electronically between January 25 and February 23, 2025. The postal ballot results were reviewed and validated by independent scrutinizer Chirag Shah & Associates, confirming that the special resolution had been passed with the requisite majority.
The decision to rebrand as AWL Agri Business Limited aligns with the company’s broader strategic vision to position itself as a diversified agribusiness entity. The name change reflects the company’s evolving business focus beyond edible oils, incorporating a wide range of agri-related products and solutions.
With the completion of the postal ballot process, the company will now proceed with the necessary regulatory formalities, including approvals from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and stock exchanges, to finalize the name change.
