Junaid Khan recently made his theatrical debut with Loveyapa, alongside Khushi Kapoor. The film received a mixed-to-positive response from the audience but failed at the box office. Now, Junaid’s father, Aamir Khan, has reacted to the commercial failure of his son’s movie.
During an interview with ABP Live, he said, “Nahi chali woh film, unfortunately. Toh mujhe uska bhi bada dukh hai. Mujhe laga film acchi hai aur Junaid ne bhi accha kaam kiya hai lekin voh film nahi chali.”
He revealed that as a father he was ten times more stressed over Junaid’s film than he typically is for his own projects. He shared that two weeks ahead of the release, the actor found himself sitting by the window, dealing with the anxiety he was feeling, despite the fact that it was not even his film.
He added, “Mai dur dekh raha hun par mera dil zor se dhadak raha hai. I thought it was the most important moment of my life… Junaid is someone who is young and intelligent. He has got a lot of energy and positivity. He’ll find his way.”
The Dangal actor also revealed that he has produced a romantic film starring Junaid with Sai Pallavi, which shall be released by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Junaid and Khushi’s Loveyapa failed to strike a chord with the audience. The movie was helmed by Advait Chandan and produced by AGS Entertainment and Phantom Films. It collected around Rs. 8.85 crore.
