Ganesha Ecosphere Limited (GESL) has announced significant expansion plans for its wholly owned subsidiary, Ganesha Ecopet Private Limited. The Board of Directors, during a meeting held on February 3, 2025, approved a capacity increase for the subsidiary, involving both greenfield and brownfield projects.

The expansion details include:

  • Greenfield Project in Odisha: The establishment of a new plant with a capacity of 67,500 tons per annum (TPA).
  • Capacity Expansion at Warangal Plant: Increasing production capacity from 42,000 TPA to 64,500 TPA.

This development follows an earlier announcement on November 12, 2024, regarding an initial expansion plan of 45,000 TPA. The total additional capacity now stands at 90,000 TPA.

Key Project Highlights:

  • Investment: The estimated cost for the expansion ranges between Rs 700-750 crore.
  • Financing: The project will be financed through a mix of debt, equity, and internal accruals.
  • Timeline: The expansion is expected to be completed within 18 months.
  • Rationale: The expansion aims to bolster GESL’s production of rPET chips and granules, supporting its growth and market demand.

The company has stated that the proposed plans are part of its strategic efforts to cater to rising market demand for recycled PET products, further positioning Ganesha Ecosphere as a leader in sustainable manufacturing.
