TGV SRAAC Limited is set to strengthen its position in the chemical industry with the Board’s in-principle approval for an expanded Caustic Soda production project. In a meeting held on January 30, 2025, the Board approved the expansion of 450 MT of Caustic Soda and 400 MT of Chlorine at an estimated cost of ₹350 crores.
This project marks a significant enhancement from the company’s earlier plan. Previously, as per a BSE filing dated December 2, 2022, the Board had approved an expansion of 270 MT of Caustic Soda with a proportional increase in Chlorine capacity. However, after a strategic revision, the company has scaled up production capacity, reinforcing its commitment to meeting growing market demands.
In another development, the company’s board has decided to decommission its 4.89 MW wind power unit in Ramgiri, Anantapur. The Board approved this decision in a meeting held on December 30, 2025, with the closure effective from December 31, 2024. The primary reason cited is the high operational costs exceeding revenue, making the unit financially unviable.
