As India’s GDP growth surpasses 6% for the seventh consecutive year, Ravi Sreedharan, President and Co-founder of the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM), has underscored the need for greater investment in critical areas of nation-building through the Union Budget 2025.
“Building a truly Viksit Bharat—a nation that thrives both economically and socially—calls for significantly expanding funding for resilient infrastructure, climate change adaptation strategies, and rural development. Bridging socio-economic gaps and empowering the backbone of India’s economy must be key priorities,” Sreedharan stated.
At a systemic level, he emphasized the need to strengthen institutions dedicated to nation-building, particularly higher education institutions that drive innovative learning models. “India must reimagine traditional education to address the complex challenges of development management, sustainability, and social equity. These institutions must receive unwavering support to lead the way in redefining the future of education and nation-building,” he added.
As the Union Budget 2025 approaches, the development and education sectors anticipate decisive policy measures that will accelerate inclusive growth, institutional resilience, and long-term sustainability in India’s economic and social landscape.
