The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced the enhanced Certificate of Origin (eCoO) 2.0 System, aimed at streamlining the certification process for exporters and boosting trade efficiency. This upgraded platform provides user-friendly features like multi-user access, Aadhaar-based e-signing, and integrated dashboards for seamless access to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) details, trade events, and other resources.
Effective January 1, 2025, electronic filing of Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin has become mandatory through the eCoO 2.0 platform, available on the DGFT website. The system processes over 7,000 certificates daily, connecting 125 issuing agencies and 650 officers under one unified platform.
Additionally, DGFT has introduced Back-to-Back Certificates of Origin, catering to goods of non-Indian origin for re-export or merchanting trade. This feature enhances transparency and expedites the process for global supply chains.
These initiatives reflect DGFT’s commitment to improving the Ease of Doing Business for Indian exporters.
