Palantir Technologies, a Silicon Valley company with strong links to the defense as well as intelligence communities, filed to go public Tuesday.
The software company that specializes in big data analytics is planning to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker PLTR.
As per the latest inputs, the company will go public via a direct listing. Also, it is not using any investment banks to underwrite its deal.
Palantir revealed in its prospectus that it has never had a profitable year in its history and that it posted net losses of nearly $580 million in each of the past two years.
Founded in 2003 by Peter Thiel, Alex Karp, Stephen Cohen, Joe Lonsdale, and Nathan Gettings, it is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
