Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has said India is likely to play a “big role” in manufacturing COVID-19 vaccine.
“India is a leading vaccine producer, we need cooperation from India on manufacturing COVID-19 vaccine,” Bill Gates told PTI.
In an exclusive interview with the news agency, Gates called the ongoing crisis the “next biggest thing” the world has been confronted with after the World War.
Gates said the entire world is looking to India for large-scale production of COVID-19 vaccine once it is rolled out.
“All of us want to get a vaccine out in India as fast as we can, once we know that it’s very effective and very safe,” Gates added.
