On Thursday, the World Health Organization (WHO) chief announced to set up a review committee in order to assess the performance of the agency’s International Health Regulations (IHR) during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus delivered the remarks hours ahead of a press conference.
“The committee will make technical recommendations on the functioning of the IHR as well as regarding possible amendments,” he said.
The review committee’s first meeting is likely to be held on September 8-9.
