Impact on Oil Marketing Companies

ICICI Securities reported that OMCs such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) faced significant LPG losses in H1FY25. These challenges, along with weaker Gross Refining Margins (GRMs) and inventory losses, dragged earnings down. However, H2FY25 prospects are optimistic, with potential compensation for LPG losses anticipated.

The reduction in LPG prices provides some relief to consumers while OMCs continue to navigate volatile crude prices and margins.
