Fortis Healthcare has announced the appointment of Leo Puri as the Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective December 27, 2024. The decision was made during the company’s board meeting and is subject to shareholder approval.
Leo Puri joins Fortis Healthcare as an Independent and Non-Executive Director, bringing with him over 40 years of extensive experience in leadership and strategic roles across the financial services sector. His distinguished career includes senior positions at organizations such as JP Morgan Chase, McKinsey & Company, and UTI Asset Management Company, where he played key roles in driving growth and operational excellence.
Puri takes over the role from Indrajit Banerjee, who has been serving as interim chairman since October 1, 2024. Banerjee will continue to be a part of the board.
Fortis Healthcare operates 28 healthcare facilities with approximately 4,700 operational beds and 419 diagnostic labs across India. The company is committed to expanding its healthcare services and providing high-quality care, and Puri’s appointment is expected to enhance its leadership capabilities and strengthen its strategic vision in India’s growing healthcare sector.
