Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a towering figure in Indian politics and an esteemed economist, passed away at the age of 92 on December 26, 2024. Dr. Singh, who had been unwell, was admitted to the emergency department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi earlier today after his health took a critical turn. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he could not recover and was declared dead later in the evening.
Earlier in the Day
The former Prime Minister was rushed to AIIMS Delhi under emergency circumstances. His health had deteriorated significantly, leading to his admission. The hospital has yet to release an official statement regarding the cause of his demise.
A Nation in Mourning
Tributes have been pouring in from across the political spectrum and the world. Robert Vadra expressed his grief on Twitter, saying:
