Yamaha has unveiled the latest version of its Aerox scooter line, now called the Aerox Alpha, in Indonesia. The updated model features a fresh design and enhanced features, making it a noteworthy upgrade. While Yamaha has not confirmed whether the Aerox Alpha will be available in India, it recently introduced an updated version of the Aerox in India along with a new S variant.
The Aerox Alpha boasts several technological improvements, including a new TFT screen for the instrument cluster. Riders will benefit from features like traction control, Emergency Stop Signal, three shift modes, and two riding modes. The instrument cluster also supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, there are three display modes for better rider customization.
Visually, the Aerox Alpha presents a sharper, more aggressive look compared to the version available in India. It comes with upgraded dual LED projectors for the headlamps, integrated turn indicators, and redesigned rear turn indicators and tail lamp.
The Aerox Alpha is available in four variants: Standard, CyberCity, Turbo, and Turbo Ultimate. Each variant features unique color schemes and minor cosmetic changes like different guards for the exhaust and radiator.
Powering the Aerox Alpha is the same 155cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine found in the R-15, producing 15.4 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque. The new Electric CVT (YECVT) transmission, which replaces the traditional CVT, allows riders to select from three acceleration times—Low, Medium, High—and two riding modes—T Mode and S Mode. However, the YECVT transmission is only available on the Turbo Ultimate and Turbo variants.
