India’s retail vehicle sales saw significant growth in November 2024, with an 11.21% rise, reaching 32,08,719 units, compared to 28,85,317 units in the same month last year. The surge was primarily driven by a strong demand for two-wheelers.
Retail sales of two-wheelers skyrocketed by 15.8%, totaling 26,15,953 units, up from 22,58,970 units in November 2023. This increase was attributed to the festive season’s lingering effect, boosting consumer purchases.
However, the passenger vehicle (PV) segment faced challenges, with retail sales dropping by 13.72%. November 2024 saw 3,21,943 PVs sold, down from 3,73,140 units last year. This decline reflects some market pressures in the segment.
In the commercial vehicle category, sales also took a hit, declining by 6.08% to 81,967 units, compared to 87,272 units in November 2023. Despite this, the three-wheeler segment reported a positive trend, with a 4.23% increase in sales, reaching 1,08,337 units, compared to 1,03,939 units in the previous year.
