Ambuja Cements, a leading cement company under the Adani Group, has taken a significant step toward achieving its net-zero targets by entering a strategic partnership with Finland-based engineering firm Coolbrook. This collaboration will implement Coolbrook’s proprietary RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) technology to reduce fossil fuel dependence and decarbonize the cement manufacturing process.

The RDH™ technology leverages renewable electricity for high-temperature process heating, providing a carbon-free alternative to traditional fossil fuel methods. This aligns with Ambuja Cements’ sustainability goals, including improving Alternative Fuel and Raw material (AFR) usage to 28% and increasing green power generation to 60% by 2028.

Ajay Kapur, CEO – Cement Business, Adani Group, stated, “This partnership exemplifies our commitment to sustainability and innovation. By leveraging Coolbrook’s cutting-edge technology and the Adani Group’s renewable energy capabilities, we aim to drive efficiency, reduce emissions, and deliver value for our stakeholders.”

Joonas Rauramo, CEO of Coolbrook, highlighted, “Ambuja Cements’ strong focus on sustainability and leadership in renewable energy make them an ideal partner to expand our mission of revolutionizing heavy industries with green technology.”

Ambuja Cements has also been recognized with the Golden Peacock Award for its exemplary environmental practices and climate change mitigation efforts. Additionally, the company received a leadership score of A- from CDP for its commitment to sustainability, further solidifying its position as an industry leader.
