JSW MG Motor India has recorded impressive sales figures for November 2024, with 6,019 units sold, marking a robust 20% year-on-year growth. The surge in sales was primarily driven by the exceptional demand for the MG Windsor EV, which has rapidly emerged as the automaker’s key growth driver in the Indian market. The MG Windsor EV, launched as the third electric vehicle from MG Motor India, recorded a remarkable 3,144 units sold in November.
The MG Windsor EV, launched as the automaker’s third electric vehicle (EV) offering after the MG ZS EV and the MG Comet EV, has quickly gained traction among consumers. Priced at ₹13.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Windsor EV also comes with an innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, reducing the upfront cost to ₹9.99 lakh. Under this scheme, buyers can opt for a pay-per-use battery plan, priced at ₹3.5 per kilometre, making electric mobility more accessible.
MG Motor’s electric vehicles (EVs) contributed over 70% of the company’s total sales in November, further solidifying its leadership in India’s growing EV market. The Windsor EV, in particular, has emerged as a key growth driver for the automaker, leading EV sales for the second consecutive month.
The strong performance of JSW MG Motor India’s electric lineup underscores the rising acceptance of electric vehicles among Indian consumers. The company’s focus on affordability, innovation, and sustainability has resonated well in the market, helping position its new energy vehicles (NEVs) as a significant revenue generator.
