Kia India is all set to unveil its second compact SUV, the Kia Syros, on December 19, with sales scheduled to begin in January. Positioned as a unique offering in the crowded compact SUV segment, the Syros boasts a distinctive boxy design with a flat roof and upright rear, maximizing cabin space.

The vehicle’s design takes inspiration from Kia’s flagship EV9 SUV and the Carnival MPV, featuring a sharp kink in the window line at the rear quarter glass. A body-colored break in the window line at the B-pillar adds a touch of sophistication, reminiscent of the Skoda Yeti.

Inside, the Kia Syros will offer a spacious five-seat layout with generous legroom and cargo capacity. Expect premium features such as a panoramic sunroof and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to enhance the driving experience. The SUV will initially launch with a petrol engine, while an electric variant will be introduced in the second half of 2024.

The Kia Syros faces stiff competition from the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the upcoming Skoda Kylaq. Kia plans to showcase the Syros at the Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi in January 2024.

With its blend of space, design, and tech features, the Kia Syros is set to be a strong contender in the compact SUV market, offering something fresh for Indian consumers.
