Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson played with bloodstained trousers in the 2019 IPL final against Mumbai Indians (MI) as he scored 80 runs for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The 37 year old Australian batsman was running between the wickets and hitting sixes but was dismissed in the final over of the match. Mumbai Indians (MI) won the IPL 2019 title just by one run and defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

A day after the finale, photos emerged of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Shane Watson playing with blooded knee in IPL finale game against Mumbai Indians (MI). Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) were playing for the 4th IPL title. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was close to the winning but a slow ball from Lasith Malinga helped Mumbai Indians.(MI) win the game. 

Shane Watson’s teammate Harbhajan Singh appreciated Watson’s courage in continuing to play despite suffering from serious pain. Harbhajan revealed that the 37 year-old required six stitches after the match.

“Respect brother what a LEGEND @srwatson33 given sweat, blood and everything for the team.. INSPIRING,” Singh wrote on Instagram-story, while posting a picture of Shane Watson in bloodstained trousers.

“Can you guys see the blood on his knee.. He got 6 stitches after the game,” Harbhajan wrote.

“Got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone,” the bowler added.

Later, the same picture was released by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on their official twitter handle, promoting fans to appreciate his dedication.
