A viral moment from Day 3 of the first Test between India and Australia in Perth led to widespread speculation on social media that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s son, Akaay, was present in the stands. However, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, Virat’s sister, cleared the air, confirming that the child in question was not Akaay but a friend’s daughter.
The clip showed a man holding a baby behind Anushka Sharma as she cheered for Virat after his scintillating century. Fans quickly assumed the child was Akaay celebrating his father’s milestone knock. Bhawna addressed the confusion in an Instagram post, stating, “The child in the picture is not our Akaay. She is Virat and Anushka’s friend’s daughter.”

Kohli’s 30th Test century steals the show
Virat Kohli, meanwhile, made headlines for smashing his 30th Test century on Day 3, silencing critics after a lean patch. The century, scored off 143 balls, marked his seventh Test ton on Australian soil, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most Test centuries by an Indian batter in Australia. Kohli’s unbeaten knock played a pivotal role in India’s dominant performance in the Perth Test, where they secured a resounding 295-run victory.
Ravi Shastri praises Kohli’s Australian exploits
Former coach Ravi Shastri heaped praise on Kohli’s ability to deliver under pressure on challenging pitches, highlighting his consistency in Australia. “Seven hundreds in Australia—there’s no better stage or ground to achieve this,” Shastri said in an interview with Fox Cricket.
With a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, Team India heads to the Adelaide Oval for the second Test, starting December 6.
