Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kailash Gahlot has officially resigned from the party, citing internal challenges and unfulfilled promises as his reasons. In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Gahlot expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as an MLA and minister but raised concerns about the party’s direction.
In his resignation letter, Gahlot highlighted internal struggles within AAP, stating that political ambitions have overshadowed the party’s core values and commitment to the people. He pointed to unfulfilled promises, such as the cleaning of the Yamuna River, as examples of the party’s shortcomings. Gahlot also criticized the party’s focus on political agendas instead of delivering basic services to Delhi’s residents.
“The real progress for Delhi cannot happen if the Delhi government spends the majority of its time fighting with the Centre,” Gahlot noted in the letter. He affirmed his decision to step away from AAP, citing his commitment to serving the people of Delhi as his primary motivation.
