KP Group, a prominent player in India’s renewable energy sector, has announced the appointment of Dr. Alok Das as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO), effective November 11, 2024. Dr. Das brings over three decades of extensive experience in the renewable energy industry and is recognized as a thought leader in sustainable energy solutions. His expertise spans wind, solar, hybrid energy systems, green hydrogen, and other advanced technologies crucial for driving the future of energy.
Dr. Das, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and a PhD holder in Renewable Energy, has held significant leadership roles in top renewable and conventional energy companies, including Suzlon Energy, Reliance Energy, and NEPC Micon Limited. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in developing and managing renewable energy projects, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting sustainable energy policies across India and globally. His work in shaping India’s renewable energy policies since 1993 has contributed significantly to the industry’s progress and innovation.
At KP Group, Dr. Das is expected to spearhead strategic planning, project management, and business expansion efforts, with a focus on renewable energy initiatives. His appointment aligns with KP Group’s vision to strengthen its position in the renewable energy market by driving innovation and operational excellence. Additionally, Dr. Das is actively involved in key industry organizations, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and the Canada India Business Council (C-IBC). He also chairs the Renewable Energy Subcommittee at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in Gujarat, reinforcing his influence and commitment to renewable energy advancements.
